Diagnostics

Digital X-ray

X-rays are an important part of sound diagnostics in both, soft tissue and bone tissue. Digital X-rays enable accurate findings and thus optimal diagnostics.

Ultrasound examinations

Abdominal sonography:

The ultrasound examination of the abdominal cavity provides a detailed representation of the internal organs. We can draw conclusions about inflammations, free fluids, tumours or malformations with the help of the ultrasound examination. Pregnancies, bladder, kidney or gall stones can be seen quickly and easily. Our little patients tolerate these examinations very well and do not need sedation or anaesthesia.

Cardiac ultrasound:

The echocardiological examination of the heart allows an insight into the inside of the heart. With its help, heart diseases can be accurately diagnosed and thus specifically treated.

Blood pressure measurement

Untreated high blood pressure has serious consequences for the entire organism. Common diseases such as kidney and heart disease, hyperthyroidism or diabetes are associated with an increase in blood pressure. The targeted lowering of blood pressure not only protects other organs but also ensures a higher quality of life.

Surgery

Soft tissue surgery

Before any surgical procedure, your pet will undergo a thorough clinical examination. We recommend taking blood in advance to determine the anaesthetic capability and the recommended anaesthetic.

Our range of services includes

  • Tumour removal (milk groin, skin, gastrointestinal tract, bladder, spleen, etc.)
  • Castrations (male, female dog, cat, pets)
  • Removal of foreign bodies, bladder stones
  • Eyelid surgery
  • Operations of the outer ear

Your animal will remain with us after the procedure until it can be transferred to your care without risk.

Inhalation anaesthesia

An impending anaesthetic is emotionally challenging for the owner.

We enable you to accompany your pet during the administration of anaesthesia and during the recovery phase.

Before each anaesthetic, your pet will be thoroughly examined.

Prior to anaesthesia, we recommend a blood test, which gives us information about your animal’s ability to tolerate the anaesthetic.

During the anaesthetic, your pet’s vital functions are permanently monitored by our anaesthetist with the help of a pulse oximeter.

Your pet is permanently monitored both during the falling asleep phase and the waking up phase.

Inhalation anaesthesia offers the greatest possible safety and corresponds to the standard in human medicine.

Own laboratory

The immediate examination of the blood in our in-house laboratory quickly gives us information about any inflammatory processes, allergies, abnormal organ functions or infections. The results are available to us within a few minutes. This allows us to start the necessary therapy immediately and in a targeted manner.

Other services

Preventive medical check-ups

Unfortunately, we clinically often recognise many diseases at a very advanced stage only due to the late stage of the illness when the pets are brought to us.

However, many diseases of the internal organs can be detected and treated much earlier through regular blood tests. Prevention is better than cure!

Many shelter dogs come from south-eastern European countries. Due to the climate, certain diseases occur there that fortunately are not yet native to us. Screening for these vector-borne diseases is an important health prophylaxis for every dog with a corresponding history before a clinical outbreak with an uncertain outcome. Regular endo- and ectoparasite prophylaxis is also an important preventive measure and is adapted to the individual risk of infection.

The immediate analysis of the urine from the bladder provides important information in the case of bladder infections, bladder stones or bacterial infections.

Vaccinations & Animal Identification

The classic infectious diseases of dogs, cats, rabbits, and ferrets have become controllable and rarer thanks to the development of effective vaccines and their consistent use. But they have not been defeated. Infections such as distemper, feline epidemic and myxomatosis, some of which are fatal, still occur. Vaccination is therefore still necessary and offers the simplest and most effective protection against these viral and bacterial diseases.

In Berlin, dogs must be identified with a microchip. Dogs, cats, and ferrets also need a microchip to travel abroad. We will be happy to carry out a free registration in the Tasso pet register for you at your request.

Dental treatments

We carry out professional dental cleaning/tooth scaling in our practice. With diagnostic possibilities such as X-rays, we can detect diseases of the teeth and initiate appropriate therapy measures. For prophylaxis, we are happy to advise you on the possibilities of dental care for pets.

Travel planning

If you want to travel with your pet, we will be happy to advise you on the necessary preparations, e.g., exit and entry regulations, infectious diseases, preventive measures, first-aid kit, etc.

Ear irrigation

In the case of an ear infection, it is sometimes necessary to perform an ear irrigation by which we can remove pus, earwax, foreign bodies, or dirt. After ear irrigation, medicines can reach the auditory canal better and have a more effective and quicker effect.

In special cases, we work closely with renowned veterinary specialists in the fields of ophthalmology and the treatment of birds, small pets, and exotic animals, to whom we can refer you and your animal if necessary.
